On 25 November 2017, Song Yadong played his first UFC debut match. Song Yadong won his first debut match as he landed a right hand that knocked Khandare down, causing the opponent to reach for Song’s legs to try and get a takedown, however it was not a good attempt and Song Yadong was easily able to secure a front choke. It was also his third win by submission throughout his career. Song Yadong then fought with the Brazilian martial artist and also the Thai Fighter named “Felipe Arantes’ ‘ in his second fight in UFC on 23 June 2018. Song Yadong quickly landed counter punches and secured top control after catching an Arantes kick, the recond round saw much of the same, except Arantes shot for a double-leg which resulted in Song Yadong easily shucking it off with Arantes. Again landing on his back with Song Yadong attempting an arm-triangle chowk. Song Yadong was again victorious in his second fight in UFC.

Song Yadong was later announced to face “Frankie Saenz” on 24 November 2018 at UFC Fight Night 141. Later it was postponed to 7 November 2018 that he pulled out of the event due to injury and was replaced by a newcomer named “Vince Morales’ ‘. He won the fight via unanimous decision. On 2 March 2019 at UFC 235, Song Yadong was scheduled to fight against “Alehandro Perez”. Later, the fight was announced on 11 January 2019 that he pulled out due to an undisclosed reason. Song Yadong was replaced by the famous “Cody Stamann”. Song Yadong faced “Cody Stamann ” on 7 December 2019 at UFC on ESPN 7. The fight ended with a draw after the third round. Recently, Song Yadong fought a match against “Marlon Vera” in a featherweight bout on 16 May 2020 at UFC on ESPN: Overeem vs. Harris. Song Yadong won the match via unanimous decision. Both fighters earned the Fight of the Night Award.
