Liverpool was about to sign him but Chelsea quickly got the deal wrapped up during 2011 when Jose Mourinho was in charge. Chelsea paid then club record 25 million to Basel for Mohamed Salah. Next season Liverpool has an injury-prone season but Salah still scored 22 goals to help his side clinch 3rd place.
