Rúben started his career at local club Estrela da Amadora located in Amadora. Then in 2008, he moved to Benfica’s youth academy. There he played for the junior side until 2015. Rúben made his professional debut with Benfica B on 30 September 2015 in LigaPro in a match against Chaves.
