Biography

Max Emilian Verstappen was born in one of the largest cities of Belgium named Hasselt. His father’s name was Josh Verstappen and his mother’s name was Sophie Kumpen. His father Jos was a Kart race driver and his first cousin was also involved with the Motosport race. Due to the influence of his father and first cousin, Max was hooked on racing and was passionate about it. He started learning kart racing when he was just 4 years old.

Regarding siblings, he also has a younger sister named Victoria. Despite being born in Belgium, Max was more attracted to his father’s roots and decided to race as a Dutchman as he feels more connected to his father. Max Verstappen was more interested in racing and sports instead of education so due to permission from his father he used to skip classes for racing and mini-tournaments as well. However, after some years, his parents hired a private teacher for him to study on the side and continue his racing moment.

Career

Max Verstappen started racing when he was just four and even participated in Mini Junior Championship which he did quite well. After only 2 years he won the Belgium championship after graduating and be ineligible to race in Rotax Max Class. He retained the Belgium Minimax championship and also won the Dutch Minimax championship in the same year in 2007. A year later he was finally signed by a franchise named CRG team named Team Pex racing. Max started training for the CRG franchise and in 2010 decided to run in European and World races for the franchise and eventually finished second in the KF3 world cup.

2011 was a significant step up for Max Verstappen as Verstappen won the WSK Euro Series and also the WSK Master Series in KF2 format and also South Garda Winter Cup in KF2 format. He finally made his F1 racing debut in Floria Winter Series in 2014 and only a month later won his first race in Palm Beach International Raceway. In 2015 he became the youngest player to race as a World Championship player and in 2017 he became the youngest player to race in a Grand Prix in a Spanish Grand Prix. However the next year at just 18 years of age he won Spanish Grand Prix to become the youngest player to win the Grand Prix replacing Sebastian Vettel.

Despite the impressive driving and racing records, Max Verstappen is often criticized for his reckless racing and many F1 veterans have claimed he will cause a massive accident sooner or later on the racing track. Sebastian Vettel also criticized Verstappen for racing to injure the competition however his allegation could not prove so Verstappen walked without any fines or penalties. In 2017, Max won his second Grand Prix in Malaysian Grand Prix and also won Mexican Grand Prix the same year.
