Luka Modrić started his career when he participated in representative camps and trained in NK Zadar. He was also under the tutelage of coach Domagoj Basic and the head of the youth academy. Luka Modrić signed a ten year contract with the club “Dinamo Zagreb ” in the 2006-06 season. He earned a flat in Zadar for his family with the contract’s earnings. He also secured a place in Dynamo’s first team. He scored 7 goals in 31 matches to help his club win the league. Luka Modrić with Dinamo again won the league in the 2006-07 season, with Modric making a similar contribution. In the 2007-08 season , Dinamo won Croatia Cup and became champions by a 28 points margin. Modric was later signed by the famous and popular club named “Tottenhan Hotspur” on 26 April 2008. Modric scored his 100th goal in a 3-1 win against valencia in the semi-finals of 2019-20 Supercopa de Espana. recently he assisted the goal of Benzema in a 2-1 win over Villarreal on 16 July 2020, as Real Madrid secured the league title.
International Career:
Luka Modrić started his international career playing for the Croatian under-15, under-17, under-18, under-19 and under-21 teams at youth level. He played his first international match in March 2001 for the under-15 team which was coached by Martin Novoselac. Modric didn’t become a regular starter and leading player until physically strengthened and debuted for under-18. He made his full international debut for his country on 1 march 2006 in a friendly match against “Argentina ” which Croatia won by 3-2. He has also made two appearances at the 2006 FIFA World Cup finals as a substitute in the group fixture against Japan and Australia. He has also played a match in Euro 2008. During the 2018 FIFA World Cup, Modric became the new team captain. Modric with his team led Croatia to the finals of the FIFA World Cup 2018 against France. He also won the Golden ball award for his best performance.
