Blake Griffin started his career during his early age. He followed his brother to Oklahoma Christian School, where they played under their father. During the 2003-04 and 2004-05 high school season, the both brothers played together, winning two state basketball championships. During junior season, the Oklahoma Christian basketball team was moved down to Class 2A from Class 3A. He was quickly developing as a player as he began his third season with Saints. he led them to straight state championship. He scored 22 points, grabbed 9 rebounds, and recorded six blocks in the finals as Oklahoma Christian defeated Washington High School by 57-40. Following his senior year, he was named as the player of the year by both the Tulsa World and The Oklahoma Christian. He has also won the Powerade Jam Fest slam dunk contest at the McDonald’s All-American Game in Louisville, Kentucky.
He was one of the highest rated and most decorated players ever at Oklahoma. He has averaged 14.7 points and 9.1 rebounds and led the Sooners to a 23-12 record as a freshman at Oklahoma. He has also suffered a sprained medial collateral ligament in his left knee five minutes into the game against Kansas Jayhawks. He again injured his right knee in a home victory against Texas A&M less than two months after injuring his left knee. He missed the following game, a victory over in-state rivals Oklahoma State Cowboys. He has also won all six of the national player of the year awards for his sophomore year performance. He has also been named as Player of the year by the Big 12, Sport Illustrated, The Sporting News and FoxSports.com.
Blake Griffin was announced that he would give up his final two years of eligibility and declared for the NBA draft after his sophomore year on 7 April 2009. He was named as the Summer League MVP after he played for the Clippers’ Summer league Team. After missing the entire 2009-10 season due to injury, he registered 20 points and 14 rebounds in his NBA Debut against the Portland Trail Blazer. He has also been voted to play as a striker for the first time in the 2012 NBA All-Star Game along with new teammate Chris Paul. He was also selected to play in the inaugural Rising Stars Challenge in which teams were a mix of the top rookie and sophomores. He was selected first by team Shaq. He was transferred to the Detroit Pistons along with Willie Reed and Brice Johnson in exchange for Avery Bradley, Tonias Harris , and Boban Majanovic on 29 January 2018. He played his first debut match for the club three days later, recording 24 points, 10 rebounds and five assists in a protected first round draft pick and a future second round draft pick. Griffin missed the first 10 games of the 2019-20 season recovering from the left knee surgery. After playing 18 games with the Pistons, Griffin had a second surgery on his left knee, on January 7, 2020. Griffin was expected to miss the remaining of the season as a result of the injury.
