Andy Dalton started his education life by attending Katy High School located in Katy, Texas. He used to play on the Tigers football team in Katy High School. He started only one full season at quarterback for Katy High School as a senior in 2005. He has also led Tigers to the state finals, where they lost to Southlake Carroll in a 3-20. He threw for 2877 yards with 42 touchdowns and 15 interceptions as a senior. He was also named the Greater Houston Area offensive player of the year by the Houston Chronicle.

He was in competition with Jackson to be the starting quarterback entering the 2007 season. He was named by the TCU head coach two weeks before the season opener against Baylor. He was also named the 2007 Texas Bowl MVP in TCU’s 20-13 victory over Houston. He led the Horned Frogs to a perfect 12-0 regular season ranking in an AP poll, and a BCS berth in the 2009 season.
Andy Dalton started his professional career after Bengals selected him with their second round pick, 35th overall, in the 2011 NFL Draft on 29 April 2011. He was the fifth selected out of the 12 quarterbacks that were chosen in the NFL Draft. He was drafted by Cincinnati Bengals. During the 2017 season. Dalton threw three interceptions in the first half during the home opener against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 1. Recently he threw for a career high 418 yards and two touchdowns passes in the 20-21 loss in Week 1 against Seattle Seahawks during the 2019 season. After nine seasons with the team, the Bengals released him after selecting Joe Burrow with the first overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft on 30 April 2020. He signed a one year contract with Dallas Cowboys on 2 May 2020.
