Jeff Gordon started his career when he was at the age of four. He used to race BMX bikes during his early age. He won his first championship when he was at the age of 8 named “quarter-midget championship”. He won the same championship when he was at the age of 10 years old. At the age of 13, the family moved to Indiana, so he could race powerful sprint cars without the obstacle of a minimum age requirement.

Jeff earned a chance to race for owner Hugh Connerty in NASCAR’s Busch grand National Series in the year 1990 after having an interest in stock cars. In 1993, after being named as the Winston Cup Rookie of the year, Jeff broke through with victory in the Coca- Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway and the Brickyard 400 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway in 1994. With crew chief Ray Evernham and his “Rainbow Warriors” helping to keep the No. 24 DuPont Chevrolet in top form, Gordon claimed his first series championship in 1995.

Jeff started competing as a full timer in the Winston Cup Series, where he used to drive the number 24 car for Hendrick. Jeff was supposed to race the number 46 but complications with licensing related to Days of Thunder forced Gordon to the 24. Jeff was victorious in the Busch Clash exhibition race at Daytona in 1994. He also won the pole for the Coca- Cola 600 and won the race after electing to take two tires on a green flag pit stop. After racing for many years in the Cup Series and winning many trophies he announced that 2015 would be his last season as a full time driver on 22 January 2015. He started the season with the victory in the pole for his final Daytona 500 but crashed on the final lap. He has also won two additional poles by sweeping the Talladega races. In November 2015, he won his ninth career Martinsville race in the Goody’s Headache Relief Shot 500. Gordon again announced that he would make his return to the Cup Series at the Brickyard 400 in the year 2016, driving the number 88 as a substitute for the injured Dale Earnhardt Jr. Later, it was announced that Warnhardt would be out for the remainder of the season and Gordon would fill in at the Darlington. Martinsville, and Dover races on 2 September 2016. He made the record of his best finish of the season at Martinsville with a sixth place run, his final race in NASCAR.
